Description

Blank glossy white polyester thermal transfer labels are durable, waterproof-grade labels for barcodes, product identification, and equipment labeling in demanding environments. Choose from 30+ sizes, 1" to 4" wide, with Standard, Heavy Coat Weight, or Oil Tak adhesive, on a 1" core for desktop printers or a 3" core for industrial printers. A thermal transfer ribbon (resin recommended) is required.

Why choose glossy white polyester labels?

Polyester is a tough synthetic film that won't tear, absorb water, or break down with handling the way paper does. The bright, glossy white face gives high print contrast, so small text, serial numbers, and dense barcodes stay sharp and scannable. Printed with a resin ribbon, the image resists smudging, scratching, and many chemicals.

  • Waterproof and tear-resistant - holds up to moisture, washdowns, and repeated handling
  • Sharp, high-contrast print - the glossy finish keeps fine text and 2D codes crisp
  • Three adhesive choices - match the adhesive to smooth, textured, or oily surfaces
  • Volume pricing - priced per roll, with discounts starting at 5 rolls

Common uses

Equipment and component labels, chemical and drum labels, cold storage and freezer labels, outdoor product labels, durable shipping labels for cold-chain or outdoor transit, lab and sample labels, electrical and cable labels, warning and compliance labels, and long-life inventory or bin labels. Need a metallic look for asset tags? See Silver Polyester labels.

Which adhesive should I choose?

  • Standard adhesive (1 across) for smooth, clean, flat surfaces such as boxes, bins and smooth plastics.
  • Heavy Coat Weight adhesive (1 across, 2 across or continuous) for textured, curved, powder-coated or hard-to-stick surfaces.
  • Oil Tak adhesive (1 across) for surfaces that may carry a light film of oil, such as machined metal parts and automotive components.

Adhesive options are available on selected sizes – the available options update when you choose a size.

Desktop or industrial: which roll do I need?

  • Desktop rolls: 1" core, up to 4" outer diameter. Made for compact desktop thermal transfer printers in labs, workshops and small production areas. See desktop printers
  • Industrial rolls: 3" core, up to 8" outer diameter. Made for mid-range and industrial printers, with more labels per roll and fewer roll changes on busy lines. See industrial printers

Check your printer's maximum media width and roll diameter before ordering.

Which ribbon should I use?

Use a resin ribbon for the most durable, chemical-resistant print on polyester. A wax/resin ribbon can work for lighter-duty indoor labels. Wax ribbons are not recommended on polyester.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are glossy white polyester labels waterproof?
Yes. Polyester doesn't absorb water, so the label won't soak through, tear or peel from moisture. Print with a resin ribbon so the image holds up too.
What's the difference between polyester and paper thermal transfer labels?
Paper is the low-cost choice for indoor, dry use. Polyester costs more but resists water, tearing, abrasion and many chemicals, so it lasts far longer in tough conditions.
What is Oil Tak adhesive?
Oil Tak is an adhesive option made for surfaces that may carry a light film of oil, where a standard adhesive can lose grip.
Can I use these labels in a freezer or outdoors?
Polyester is the right material family for cold storage and outdoor exposure. Tell us your temperatures and surfaces and we'll confirm the best adhesive before you order.
Will these fit my Zebra, GoDEX, TSC or Honeywell printer?
They fit most thermal transfer printers that accept a 1" core with a 4" outer diameter (desktop) or a 3" core with an 8" outer diameter (industrial). Check your printer's maximum print width and media diameter.
Which ribbon works best on glossy polyester?
A resin ribbon gives the best scratch and chemical resistance. Wax ribbons don't bond well to polyester.
